The last month has been a very busy one for the running club. We’ve had plenty of members participate in various different on and off road events, with some incredible results to report. Well done everyone!
LEICESTER’S BIG 10K (16.04.23) It was very encouraging to see some of our members take on the very popular 10K at Abbey Park. 1st home for the club was Dan Pedley with a time of 55:13. Next was Andy Kemp (56:30), Steve West (58:11), Rebecca Taylor (1:13:30), Tracey Coates (1:19:06), Jenny McNair (1:19:07) and Emily Pierce (1:19:40).
MANCHESTER MARATHON (16.04.23) Lorna Muskett was our solo club representative, running the Manchester Marathon in an impressive time of 3:30:07. A fantastic achievement.
LONDON MARATHON (23.04.23) It was great to see a few of our members take on this iconic race with some brilliant times recorded: Robert Archer: 3:25:09, Jonathan Morgan 3:29:32, Abby Jackson 4:16:40, Claire Tector 5:51:24, and Kirit Patel 5:05:42.
MILTON KEYNES MARATHON (01.05.23) 2 more of our runners completed the Milton Keynes Marathon, both finishing in great times. Louise Fernand completed the course in 4:11:57, followed by Deepti Maheswaren in 04:29:43. Well done both.
DUKERIES 30 MILE RACE (06.05.23) As well as plenty of road races it was great to see some off road events being entered. A challenging 30 mile race at Sherwood Forest across forest trails and footpaths, Alex Prettyman finished in 2nd place with a very impressive time of 4 hours 6 minutes. Well done Alex!
BOSWORTH HALF MARATHON (07.05.23) On Sunday 7th May a few runners ran the Bosworth Half Marathon taking in the scenery around the historic town of Market Bosworth. Brilliant running from team F&K! 1st home for the club was Pete Bennett in 1:39:44. Bernadette Owen was next with a time of 1:50:21 and 1st in her age category, followed by Emma Boyd 2:14:16 and Steve West 2:53:51.
BRITISH INTER COUNTY MOUNTAIN RACE (07.05.23) An extremely challenging 14km fell race in Cumbria with many tricky ascents and descents. Sam Pole managed to complete this race in an impressive 1:09:14. Congratulations on an incredible achievement.
