It’s been another busy month and end to the summer running season with Fleckney and Kibworth Running Club taking part in plenty of events.
First up, and one of the bigger events on the race calendar, was the Great North Run. Jonathan Eyles and John Clampin headed to Newcastle to take part with Jonathan finishing in 02.22.02 and John in 02.12.35.
Closer to home, two large teams entered Equinox – a 24 hour event consisting of 10k laps at Belvoir Castle. Pete Bennett and Kirstie Faust went solo with Pete doing 10 laps and Kirstie 5, of the 10k course. Annie Frankham, James Hawley, Bernie Owen, Adam Niblett, Jo Wood, Dee Mahes, Barbara Blunt, Jenny McNair, Jo Wood, Tracey Coates, Andy Kemp, Tor Hawley and Vince Brown were split among teams.
Tracey Coates, Jenny McNair and Emily Pierce headed to the Croft Canter for the 10 mile race. Emma Boyd and John Clampin attended the Clipston 5 mile Trail Race.
Emily Pierce completed her first half marathon in Lake Vyrnwy, Wales and
Steve West in the Sandringham 10k.
It was a busy start to October with great club representation in the local Leicester 10k, Leicester Half Marathon. Abby Jackson (51.55), Emma Boyd (58.06), Gary Lawrence (01.12.43), Jennifer McNair (01.22.10), Rebecca Taylor (01.14.34) and Steve West (01.05.55) took part in the 10k with pacer Pete Bennett (02.00.15), Aileen Collins (02.10.42), Lorna Muskett (01.42.11) and Joanne Wood (02.13.23) taking on the half.
Andy Kemp headed to Cardiff, completing the course in 02.36.58.
John Clampin headed up to Scotland to take part in then Loch Ness Marathon with a time of 05.13.46.
As we head into the darker evenings, we’re back to club nights on Tuesdays in Fleckney and Thursdays in Kibworth.
